Never Will Be Dreams

Catching dreams is hard.
Holding on to dreams is even harder.
Why? The answer's simple.

If you have a dream that is like something that stepped out of a fairy tale,
Would you believe that it can come true?
If your dream seems impossible to come true,
Would you wait patiently till forever to reach it?
At first, there might be a tiny glow in you that makes you think anything's possible.
And that glow becomes a flame, which grows into a fire.
And maybe you'd hold on for a few years,
preparing to turn that dream into reality.
But after all those years, and nothing seems to be how you want it to be,
Would you still go on chasing that dream?
Still keep on trying to catch that dream?
The one raging fire ceased to nothingness
All that's left is a broken matchstick.

Oh, that dream will be falling alright.
Just definitely not into my hands.

And I'll be content in the days after that,
just dreaming that never will be dream,
but never believing again.
